The strange case of Fidel Castro

The Cuban leader died on 25 November this year at a ripe age of 90 and survived most of the assassination attempts on him by the CIA. He remained Marxist till his last breath and was seen as the last bastion of resistance against imperialistic regimes by some. He stated in his autobiography

“If people call me Christian, not from the standpoint of religion but from the standpoint of social vision, I declare that I am a Christian.”

I am curious about Castro, because I had heard quite often from my Muslim friends that US cannot kill Osama bin Laden because Allah was protecting him and the infidels wont be able to touch him because he is a believer in Allah and the follower of the Quran.

If that was true, then who saved Castro from so many attempts on his life by the US govt? He was not a believer in Allah nor did he pray 5 times to appease him. Allah certainly does not like the infidels who do not believe in him and follow his last book for the folks. If he did, then he would not be raging in anger at the infidels.

Fidel Castro died a natural death and lived long enough to see the first decade of the 21st century and beyond. I think we humans make up stories to convince ourselves into a sleeping mode so that the reality doesn’t wake us up and shakes us to start looking for answers and not sit on our asses as mere believers in certain fantasies  generated by human mind.

Maybe if people started looking at each other with love rather than looking above all the time for some “old man in the sky” love; this planet would be a paradise here and now rather than a hell hole it has become because of stupid devotion to some emptiness above us and hatred for the living forms in front of us.
